British artist Fulton engages in the art action of walking across the earth and subsequently recording his thoughts through photography, text, and installations. In 1997, MAM commissioned Fulton to do a 21-day walk in the Beartooth Mountains of south-central Montana. Fulton then returned to MAM and completed several wall paintings. The catalog contains the wall paintings Fulton executed at MAM as well as photographs from his adventures and wall paintings from other walks/exhibitions. The publication includes an interview with the artist by Stephen Glueckert and an essay by outdoor adventure writer Peter Stark.
